Hey guys, I called Ted's the other day and they are no longer selling 6.5 Optimizer engines. So what's the best 6.5 block to bore and install 18:1 pistons other than a P400?
If dismissing p400 because nla, modmafia the hummer guys have a couple used p400s they got since they just bought out urova.
Boyce in Utah might have some optimizers.
Also might try Government planet- or whatever the other name their auction house is now. Can’t remember at the moment.
Hey guys, I called Ted's the other day and they are no longer selling Iraq dessert sand filled and/or burned up 6.5 or 6.2 boat anchors. So what's the best 6.5 block to bore and install 18:1 pistons other than a P400?
Question, do you plan to do anything at all to the crank, or just clean and go? I am checking on my bearing supply and will let you know when I do.. .013 = .0005" .026 = .001" Edit, missed a 0 ---- .013 = .0005"
Yup that's where I got mine from last month. Didn't know they had more, when I chatted with them in August Mark said they got two 60° motors from the acquisition and the other was already spoken for so I thought I got the last one.
I was just looking at another Suburban (stupid me) that has a cracked block but a nice truck with a bunch of mods. My first thought was to buy some used 18:1s and bore the 506 block I have with only 70k on it but that probably wouldn't be a good move I'm thinking. So I was just trying to figure out my options if I were to obtain this other truck. I have stuff like a new harmonic dampner, high flow water pump, 5 blade steel fan and clutch, no EGR intake manifold, etc. just laying around my shop. Oh and BTW I just found another 506 block with turbo for probably 25.00 I just have to go get it.
