Hi!
Help me make a choice!
I have a 6,5 engine from 95 Suburban. But I don't have ehxaust/intake/turbo from this diesel. But I have this parts and 2 heads from Chevy Express. What is better to buy ehxaust/intake/turbo for installation turbo to right or install it in the middle of block?
If install turbo in the middle between heads, I'll have a problem with oil inlet and outlet. Holes in the block, like a bus, there is no in my block.
I would like to hear what everyone thinks about it.

Sorry for my English

Leroy is also putting together a side mount banks turbo kit. If you are starting w/o manifolds or turbo then I say get leroy's kit and an ATT.

I have a set of stock manifolds but shipping across the pond would be a killer.

I put a center mount gm6 on my n/a engine. Had to go center mount, side mount would not fit my hummer. Go with the side mount. Get A Team Turbo, much better and lower cost than any gm turbo. Put on diamond eye 4"'exhaust kit with 3"'cross over while doing install.
You will need to increase fuel supply for turbo- ip adjusted and injector pop pressure increased. So if injectors are old this is a good time form we ones.

x2 on what these guys are saying about the ATT. Very happy with the ATT on my 6.5 for the brief amount of time that the 6.5 lived. I think I willed be pleased with it on the 6.2 I am working on to replace the 6.5.

How did you solved the problem with the oil feed and return? Do you have photos?

To confirm. You are saying this picture is NOT your engine? The picture is of a Van, Hummer type center mount.
If your engine block does not have the holes like in the picture then you are in good shape to use a side mount turbo like the ATT.
Yes, in my block is NOT there holes. This is my main problem. I ALREADY have parts for installing the central-mount turbo. Buy in Moscow parts for the side-mount turbo is very difficult. And shipping from America will be very expensive.

I removed the engine, pulled the camshaft out. Drilled the holes.

The small hole drills at an angle to the oil channel triangulate angle and depth from ops connection channel and plug in The back of the block. Then use reamer through the back access.

The large hole is the drain. It goes straight down to the cam, but only one half of the hole penetrates. The other half cannot or it will damage cam seat.

DO NOT DRILL EITHER HOLE TOO DEEP OR OUT OF LINE! If you want to use the factory gasket you will need to mill the recess into the block,( I just used a piece of blank head gasket material. 5,000 miles so far no leaks.)

After drilling and milling, clean everything thoroughly. Reinstall cam, you could then install your van heads (new bolts required, studs suggested)and manifolds.

I would suggest selling your running engine and buying a van block instead. Serious pain and risk of destroying the block. My engine was a nearly new optimizer, & I have a lot of experience machining.

I have pics somewhere, I will post when I can find them.

Thank you! This is very important information for me! I also think about the drilling. But I have one more idea. Put the cartridge under the turbine, which is 2 channel. One channel of a hose connected to the oil pressure sensor through the tee. Oil drain through the second channel through the cap to back of block. Also need to do long the pipe on the exhaust and to make 2 podiums to manifolds. What do you think about it?

No good. If you raise the height of the turbo, it will not fit into the center piece of the intake manifold. Also the up pipes will not fit. Also the mounts are easy to crack if it is not a true and secure base.

On the pics, I found a few shots on my iPhone, how do I post them from the phone?
