Hey yall,

What does this box do that sits on the firewall in the engine compartment? Its on a 97 GMC truck btw. I was thinking it was the wiper motor assembly, but was not sure :willynilly: Thanks

wiper motor/control board, under the black cover is that circuit board that goes bad and causes wipers to not function, some vehicles depending on vintage had a service bulletin to replace under warranty, "cold solder joints" on relay socket can be repaired, mine had bad relay on both mine, IIRC was about $35 from dealer, takes like 5 minutes to replace.

Make sure you request the right chip, intermittent wipers or not. symptoms are wipers not turning on, not turning off, basically not responding to the switch on the steering column.
