Vegetable Gardens

Figured I would post here for today's adventure...

My wife and younger son (proud owner of the 68 chevy), out of the blue decided today to build a circular flower bed around the tree in the front yard and build a long planter box across the house in front of our narrow porch. as soon as I got home from work I was told to take them to home depot to pickup some bags of mulch and red colored bricks to go around the tree.

Picked up 30 bricks and 4 bags of black mulch, trimmed out around the tree with the weed wacker and placed them around the tree in about a 2ft radius to get an idea how many more they needed. tomorrow my son will start digging up the ground around the tree to break up the soil and level the area for the bricks.

He decided to do a planter box in the front so the dogs won't eat all his plants. I estimate the size to be about 50' by 2-3ft wide, I told him that as soon as we get the box built I would take him to the local nursery to get a truck load of garden soil to fill it with. much cheaper than trying to buy it all by bags at the hardware store! He's been wanting to get something going for plants.

Wife also wants to lay a pebble rock bed around the two rows of shrubs we have in the front too.

it got dark on us today, but I will get some photos tomorrow after work.
