I may have made a boo boo. I greased the main shaft between the transfercase and tranny where the adapter is. I didn't use much, just coated it for an easier installation. Can this eventually get into the tranny? Can it contaminate the transmission fluid. Or am I worrying about nothing. When I seperated the TC from the adapter there was a small amount of tranny fluid in there but I wasn't sure if it was from the tranny or the TC.

You're worrying over nothing. A little grease won't hurt it one bit. I always grease them when I dod them so that they are not dry when it is driven for the first time.
