Because it's January and 75 degrees.

And also because I can install goodies on my car without waiting for spring or freezing my ass off in the process.

Yesterday, I installed this Vararam ram air intake. It's pretty bad ass actually. These things really benefit from a free flowing intake system. It's about 24" in length and has a scoop that fits right over the radiator stack and feeds from the grille directly. It's a flat panel filter and really woke up the car.

Now, it's deep, and throaty and makes the whole car louder inside, the way it should sound at throttle.

And I also tuned it as well. I have several Hyeprtech's laying around and I sent one back in for them to swap it out for me since they now offer support for L99's and LS3's. I turned off the active fuel management, slowed down the TQ management and power tuned the motor. It's running like a beast now.

Looks good, Nick, but ...

... I have spent about 7 hrs shoveling in the last 2 days, and my neighborhood is drifting back in even as I write this.

You post one more smart-alex comment and photo, and Leo, Simon and I are gonna come down there and open up a can on you.

:D

It does look good Nick, but you don't have to rub it in about the weather. This morning I had about a foot of snow on the ground and it was minus 3 degrees. Got another storm coming which could dump from 8 to 12 inches more. I know what your saying by now, move if I don't like it.

I have to say that this morning was a true test as far as my truck starting in cold weather. After it turned over a few times it fired right up. I did not have it plugged in, but I am running Stanadyne Performance Formula in it. Also the Bridgestone Blizzak's that I bought last winter go like a son of a gun. I have a steep driveway and I could actually back up it at will. I must say I was pleased with those tires other than they do throw rocks real bad on gravel roads.

Enjoy yourself Nick and maybe by March you might see a few girls in shorts.

Nice Nick! Post up a vid of that snarling beast. Take us for a ride so to speak.:agreed:

Oh BTW, screw you and your 75 degrees! Jim, Leo and Simon are pickin' me up on the way down and I've got a BIG can to open too...:mad2:

j/k pal!:D

This was yesterday morning ... also before the wind started.

We got ourselves another 5" since then... and a bunch more wind.

I hate winter. I really do.

eh, I can handle the cold and snow a lot better than the humidity of Florida in the summer. The few times I've visited relatives down there in the summer I just die from the humidity. Can't drink enough water and gatorade. Winter is great time to visit though.

Oh ya, jealous about the car by the way. :D

Damn Jim! Don't you have some 'mechanized' method of moving that white shit?!

What are you talking about, brother? What you see in that picture is the "Wife 3000" - the finest automatic snow-moving and cooking equipment diamonds can buy...

Here you go Jim...:hihi:

Bill, they're claiming 20-30 rwhp. That's the manufacturer's claim though and we all know how that works. I would estimate ~15-20 rwhp, like the rest of the free flowing intakes.

No one's dyno'd one yet though. There's a few guys who lost a couple 10ths in the quarter though with nothing other than that as a mod so, who knows.

Sweet ride, amigo ... nice looking beach, too. You do realize that you're getting houseguests, right?

Sure am glad I am heading back to Florida this week sometime. This Mississippi weather at 19* is for the birds....

When you gonna bring it up and do the exhaust man? Looks like I'm getting caught up again, so I should have some free time. Unfortunately you jinxed us as it rained almost all day today, and a cold front coming in tommorrow(don't bother me none though, got my shop cleaned out and a heater in there now).

Oh wah wah wah :D :D . I replaced the rear main seal on my Jeep in a 3 sided shed in 10 degree weather.....makes a man out of ya.....at least I like to keep that happy thought. I really wished I had a heated garage then. Come to think of it, replaced the water pump a couple winters ago on my Impala in -5 degree weather. I think I lost some nerve endings in my fingers on that one.

Get rid of that humidity in the summer and I'll be there in a heartbeat.

Mike, the humidity isn't all that bad you know. I don't know why everyone thinks that it's ungodly humid all summer long. It's really not bad. I lived in Louisiana for almost 5 years and this place here can't hold a candle to that place for humidity.

Ferman, soon. I have a busy schedule coming up. But I just want to take off that gigantic resonator.

I don't deal with heat and humidity very well. I've spent summers around Sarasota and absolutely hated it. I'd take a shower with only the cold water on and still be sweating. My wife is convinced I'm cold blooded, anything past 70 degrees and I'm not liking it. I sweat so damn much in the summer I have a hard time staying hydrated, usually go through 3-4 shirts and a couple gallons of water a day in the heat.

There is no way I could wear a vest down there and survive....makes doing the job a bit difficult.
