Do you have the original air filter box (K47) for the truck. If so it would be best to use it. The filter setup that you have now will suck hot under hood air into the intake. The original K47 was found to be the best to use for these trucks.

@Jaryd no i dont the truck didnt have a breather box where could i get one at

After all the hard work you did the K&N gravel screen ring duster needs to go away. Dry filters (like S&B) are the best and paper OEM K47 diesel does the job. Gas engines also have a K47 code air cleaner so be sure b4 you buy.

Looks good!

Ill have to go to lkq and look but would lile to keep the k&n i dont like dry filters ive had them like rot and fall apart in the pass and that was the last lol

Filters are the most important thing for engine life. Once you get dirt, dust, grit plowed into the rings it's game over as the dirt is a grinding compound. You can't switch to a better later as the grit is still there. Punch it OS and toss pistons and rings... K&N doesn't filter very well yet clogs up quickly. You are better off running a thick screen vs a K&N. No, K&N will tell you MAF and engine damage is all your fault. Really it is for running krap filters...

Run better dry filters and check em often. FRAM doesn't count.

Just saying so you can make an informed decision.

I can’t remember if I read it in a thread on here or not but someone posted the results of quite a few air filters being tested. I don’t remember the best ones they said but I do remember that K&N got beat by a bunch of the other filters. I’ll try and find it.

Oh, and when you get a chance how about posting a video of what the turbo sounds like from in the cab.

I still gotta get tge wste gate set im just waiting on my boost gauge to come in not sure if it will have boost idling or not but i dont have the silencer ring in and ill post it on my youtube and share links

Ok so i need some input i was told even though i put my new injection pump in the exact same location has the old one ill still have to adjust my timing? I took alot of measurements and marks and never took the old ip off the old motor until everything matched up as far as what i measured and marked then once i put new pump on i took the old one off to return the core anyone with any input or thougts? My scanners wont tell me timing and i can get a tech 2 for around $200 hand held unless thats the cheap knock off?

Is this tech 2 ready to use or do i have to subscribe to gm database? Hopefully not if so im gonna scrap the truck i dont have that kinda money to buy a scanner and get on the database.
