I have a 6.5L Diesel on a 2001 GMC C3500HD Sierra. The tachometer, Speedometer and now the Fuel Guage is showing 3/4 full. At first the Fuel Gauge showed 0 not working. All other gauges, oil, temperature, and battery gauges are working.

Yesterday the secondary tank would not kick in and we ran out of fuel. When we went to fuel up the Secondary tank it was full. We know this is a transfer problem and we are looking at our fuel balance module near the fuel lift pump. But why the tach and speedometer are inoperable is a mystery, they were working fine.

I had issues on a 99 a few times and it turned out to be the harness over the engine heat melted insulation.
Not sure that the blower motor harness was ever upgraded in that year but there is history of that harness melting other circuits inside the dash.
