Starter jammed?

Good call

I have never been a real fan of the gear drive starters, except when it comes time to do an R&R

Old direct drive units are bloody heavy to hold up in there and then try and get the bolts going

I will likely use the gear drive on my 6.2 swap into the 91 Burb just because of the weight issue.

I've had both. cooked both. the DD will stand up to abuse alot loner than the GR ever did. plus it spins over faster with the DD version. The batteries are overkill so what do I care about a little extra draw:rolleyes5:

I was told a long time ago that CATs are great engines, but once you have any major internal problems it's time to throw it away and start over because they will never be the same again. This was after we had problems with the NA 3208 in a dump truck. And it never was the same after.

.
That is the only problem with a 3208. ONce their dead, their dead.
