Thinking of buying a pickup,suburban, tahoe, or hummer with a 6.5?
Known issues of:
overheating to crack head, block, or blow headgasket has long been solved.
Since 93 has reputation of going through expensive injection pumps- but is almost always a misdiagnosed issue. Not easy to find mechanic shop that has the knowledge, but if you as the owner know and can talk to your mechanic- no worries. Of course if you work on it yourself, no worries.
Without a doubt the lowest cost of ownership light duty diesel engine available still. In truck 100,000 mile service at affordable rate. Most engines are good to 300,000 miles, expanded services will get to 400,000 miles. Price injectors compared to other diesel engines as a good example.
Need more specific questions to go into details better.
