This isnt engine related, but i know it will get the best response here....Has anyone had any luck with custom fit seat covers? I picked up a power 60/40 seat with the flip down console for my service truck last year, but I havent wanted to put it in the truck yet because I know the dog will just trash it with all the mud.

I found this site online which I thought seemed good. They have a ton of options for seat configurations and styles which sounds much better than a one size fits all deal. http://www.precisionfit.com/index.aspx

Just wondering if anyone has had luck with any other companies. Thanks

Check out GT Covers. They aren´t cheap but they custom make them to any GMC seat configuration. I am very happy with mine. Good luck. g

The website I posted has the exact same options as the GT covers site. Even the same item numbers. They probably both cary the same line of covers. Glad to know you like yours.

These are covers that go over the existing. They have all the GMC colors and seat configurations and really look great.

I had a set of 'Wet Okole' covers I put on my 2000 2500 RCLB in a 40-20-40 configuration. They installed very easily and held up perfectly. Made the stock seats even more comfy. I liked 'em so much, I put a set of them on my 2003 2500HD RCLB.
They are actually wetsuit material.

Did'int look at the posted web sites so don't know price or if they will be the same cover as I recomend. I like the Cover Craft seat covers. They are pricey at $150 ish, but very heavy duty canvas type matieral and taylor fitting. JC Whitney carries them I know. I think I called them direct. Google it.

Second the covercraft recommendation I have the seatsavers on my front seats, they fit like a glove and the securing is very logically done. Very durable, washed them many times and they are still as good as the day I installed them. Cannot comment on their 60/40 but judging by my front seat build quality they should fit very well.

I got a set from fleet farm. They were cheap in cost but they don't stay on. I bought them because the leather closest to the door is wore out and the foam is exposed. I am getting sick of pulling them back over the edge of the seat every time I get back in. I guess I will have to spend alittle more money and look at getting the better ones you guys have found.

I had the same issue which is why i got the seatsavers in the first place and as said they secure so well they do not move. Sure they were over 100 bucks but definitely worth it.

Sorry AK no idea on the upholstery other than seeing a upholsterer/cover specialist.

any idea on where to get replacement upholstery? LMC has it for benches but no buckets

Any auto upholstry shop should be able to get the OEM style fabrics. I have had a few seats recovered (both vinyl and cloth) and was very happy with both the outcome and price. Sometimes an exact fabric match is hard to come by, but if you are recovering both seats, another pattern can look very close to factory.

Did they have a color they recomended that would match your factory interior? Mine is grey, and the closest match from what I can see is the silver. Hard to tell just by looking at a tiny picture online, but that is looking like my closest match.

Anyways, ill probably order a set in the next day or two, so I will be sure to take some pictures and let you guys know how they work out.

For what it is worth I found the seatsaver colours to be a good match for OEM and like I said are definitely a custom fit. GT sure does have a large selection though.

I just had the bottom cloth section on my driver bucket replaced at a local upholstery shop on the Tahoe. The cloth color/pattern matches perfect, but the OEM line depth design from the original are very faint & almost gone in the new piece. I'm not real happy how it turned out

I just had this done yesterday & talked to the shop that did the work this morning, real nice guy, said he can try to do something with it & for me to bring it back next week.

He charged $300 & for that price I am expecting a near perfect match...at least with all the design lines & patterns. I realize the fading effect from the sun & such, but not this...:nonod:

Those sure are nice Mike! Perhaps some foam cushion material where I'm missing a chunk, then a nice set of these covers would restore the inside of my tiny cab nicely!!

I think the Black with bright red middle would dress her up nicely!

Bummer man, you have a few pictures to show us?

Sorry to hear. That seems very expensive to me. I dont think i paid that much for the recover and refoam on our 6.2's bench seat. I had a quote to re-do the bottom half of my leather bucket for only $150. So for $300 it better be perfect!
