No speaker in center console.from what I can see, yes, but could still have a factory amp. you also have 6 or 7 speakers. 7th one would be inside the center console.
So pink on GM side to blue on stereo side?Look at the link for the radio diagrams I posted starting on page 271. shows the actual connectors for everything and each pin and wire color for what they are for. for premium sound on page 274 connector C1 for the radio, pin 8 is pink for signal to the amp to turn on. connect the blue wire from the stereo there.
Will do. This should be real quick, but as I said the so-called color matched Metra plug was anything but.Yes sir. you can also to test, iirc apply 12+ to the pink and see if suddenly you have boom booms LOL.
check with a test light on the blue wire to confirm when you turn on the stereo that blue wire goes 12+.
I checked the blue with the test light first and it eventually comes on after the stereo head unit boots up. So I connected blue to pink and nothing. Still just feint sound from the tweeters and nothing from the rest of the speakers. I am sick and tired of messing with this shit.Yes sir. you can also to test, iirc apply 12+ to the pink and see if suddenly you have boom booms LOL.

Did your original radio not work?I checked the blue with the test light first and it eventually comes on after the stereo head unit boots up. So I connected blue to pink and nothing. Original workedDid your original radio not work?
I’m taking it into a stereo install specialist in Missoula tomorrow morning. I do not have the time to be jerking around on this. There has to be something with the wiring, maybe the adapter is not pinned correctly. I will do some searching on the web and see what I can find. it's got to be something simple.
I've been studying your post and looking at this metra diagram, did you extend the factory harness or snip the factory connector from the dash?GM side Metra plug. L to R 6 wires:
Yellow (missing in pic), Orange (missing in pic), Pink, Grey, Violet/White, Black.

Yellow is Hot in ACCY and Run. It is connected to Yellow at the Pioneer (P) harness plug which is power regardless of ignition position.
Orange is hot at all times. It is connected to Red at P plug which is for electric terminal controlled by switch.
Pink is for ? and not connected. Metra plug has a blue wire in that position, both sides and says it’s for a power antenna, which I don’t have. So pink is not connected on the GM body side.
Grey is for ? It is connected to Orange/White at the GM side Metra Plug, but the Pioneer side Metra has an empty pin. Only grey I can find in the manual goes to LF Speaker. Maybe I’ve called the color wrong. Wish the f’n manual would should wire colors and function to their pin position.
Purple/white is show as hot at all times coming from headlight switch/dimmer. Metra plugs, both sides, have an Orange wire in that position. I have it connected to Orange/White at the P plug which is for lighting switch terminal.
Black is ground. It is connect to black through the Metra plugs to black at P plug which is also ground.
The next 4 L to R are speaker wires.
Light green is + for RF speaker; Dark Green is - for RF speaker. Connected to Grey and Grey/Black stripe through Metra plugs to Grey and Grey/Black stripe at P Plug which is for +/- at RF speaker respectively.
Same pattern is repeated for the next two Tan and Dark Grey speaker wires for LF Speaker.
Looking Pioneer instructions, it says the unconnected Blue/White is to be connected to system control terminal of the power amp. As noted this wire has a tag saying it’s for “System Remote Control”. Does this go to the Grey to Orange/White to unpinned at the P side Metra plug? I think this is my mystery. I need a lemonade as I’m tired of this crap.

I feel like the issue is something is crossed on the factory harness side. here is a pic on the metra connector showing the colors and pin locations in the connector, see if this helps anything along with this link that I found online showing factory wire colors for each wire.
1999 Chevrolet Suburban Stereo Wiring Diagram - MODIFIED LIFE
Question: Where can I find a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban radio wiring diagram? What are the 1999 Chevrolet Suburban radio wiring harness color codes?www.modifiedlife.com
From what I can find, you do have an amp that needs signal. check the position of the factory connector for each wire note on the pic the amp turn on wire is third in position next to the 12v switched power, then check each speaker pin location and follow up into the harness where it's spliced for the factory wire colors. if they are different colors, verify pinned location from the factory connector with the pinned location in the pic below. hopefully this will help and get you some progress and more sounds!

I will check fuses again in the am. I have never seen a fuse for the amplifier. Are there fuses in the engine bay fuse box that I need to check? There isn't a separate fuse for the amp possibly? other than that, I was thinking that maybe one of the audio channels from the stereo might be shorted from a possible crossed wire at the splices. it is possible that if one channel is shorted, the stereo or amp can disable both rear. I have seen this where say one rear left speaker channel got shorted and the entire amp refused to work.
