So I'm considering swapping in a p400 turbo engine in my 1975 k5 blazer. Couple things I'm curious about. 1 is turbo options. I've read into these swaps on the 73-87 trucks and standard 6.5 manifolds interfere with the ac box. What are the options for doing a center mount turbo? Also I would want to be all mechanical. What is the best option for injection pump and injectors? Also I would like to have operational cruise control. How are these things set up for cc? What about glow plug and controller whats best stand alone? Anything else I may be forgetting that would be required for swapping?

Dont waste your time on a gm turbo. ATT or hx.

As for pump, a db2- and depending on what power you are after, it determines stock pump vs built one.

Get bosch injectors, Leroy has them. Depending again on power desires is where you set your pop pressure and if you need mass fuel, bigger injectors.

Db2 cruise control box/cable assemby is easy to find, i dont remember what controls were used in the truck, but all you need is a switch and button.

Get a glowplug controller from a db2 rig like 93 or older and the 2 wire temp sensor - nothing hard there. Maybe add the solenoid for manual control while your at it.

Decent lift pump, (again Leroy)not a stock one. Easy mount and wire.

Only problem with using the GM cruise control setup is the speed signal. You would need a 40 tooth tone wheel on the output shaft, magnetic pickup sensor, and vssb to convert the speed sensor signal to the required square wave 4K pulse per mile signal for the cruise box. Aftermarket setups would make alot more sense for a rig of that age, and would allow you to retain your cable driven speedo with an inline speed sensor that goes in your cable.

I guess I should mention I have a nv4500 and np241 electric speedo. Also autometer electric gauges would that make a difference for cruise control?

Does anyone know if the cruise set up from say 88-95 tbi truck will work on the diesel engine. Right now I have a tbi engine from a 95 van and will be trying to get the cruise to work on that while I'm gathering info/parts for the diesel conversion.

I'm betting that cruise setup would work, but I can't say for sure. I converted my Tahoe to mechanical and I used the cruise setup off a Vortec Tahoe and it worked perfectly for me. There's a lot of info in the interwebs for adapting them to other vehicles. I'm just not sure one what the year breaks are for the cruise boxes. 1 thing to think about in addition is that the cable is probably different, so you will need to come up with some kind of cable end to adapt it to the pump. It's all doable stuff though.
