Old rusty lines on new injectors, dealer blames CP3! updated with pics.

So after finally getting a dealer to replace my injectors, they screwed me. The tried to tell me the CP3 was leaking. I didn't believe it, why would I? I pulled it apart today, the supply lines are rusted pretty bad, the fuel was leaking there. WTF!

TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES!!! Next call GM and send them copies of the pictures. GM will want to know about the practices of this dealer because things like this reflect badly on them just as much or more so than the dealer. I bet once they see the work and here your story they will probably send you a new set of injectors and re-imburse you for your time to fix it right. And I sure wouldn't run those injectors after seeing SHIT like that made it into them. That rust will destroy an injector seat in short order once it gets through it. Also a call to the BBB in regards to this dealership and maybe even a local news company are warranted. I'm not one to be sue happy, but you have a clear cut case there since the truck came in running and left on a wrecker.

At the minumum I would call GM and alert them, and then go to the dealer and request to speak to the service manager about it. Bring in the injector lines and plenty of pictures and see what he has to say. Also tell him that you will NOT trust them to fix it since they F---ED it up so bad to begin with.
 
That dealer that just warrantied your injectors obviously doesn't know their ass from a hole in the ground. That is some pretty shitty customer service.
 
Well I armed myself with pictures and the bulletin showing where the tech should have inspected the lines. I first talked to the service manager and he said the lines don't look too bad. I was like...What!... I then asked to see his boss. He looked at it and said "who the hell did this?" Turns out the guy that did it is NOT a diesel tech. The SM said the diesel tech was busy with something else... WTF!

Their current offer is to pay for all but $100 of the parts. This will include new lines, a WIF sensor some valve cover bolts and three fuel filters.

I'm going to run with that, but it won't end there....
 
That's better, but you definitely need to climb GMs Ladder on this one. Let them know that that service manager assigned an unqualified person to perform an important repair on your vehicle, with the end result of costing you additional money.
 
With that kind of rust in the top of the injector lines, I would DEMAND new injectors. You can't know for certain when they will fail after having that run through them.
 
I can't believe it's been a month...I didn't realize it til earlier today...thanks Paul... Man, I want to drive my truck again....this sucks....
 
There is a gm tsb that states that ends of lines need to be glass beaded during injector replacement. this is simply a case of tech not taking enough time to do the job right.
 
been there done that as well. that is exactly what happened on mine when they did the fuel injector change. granted, GM doesnt cover the feed lines anymore, but it would have been nice, as Camilleri said, "There is a gm tsb that states that ends of lines need to be glass beaded during injector replacement. this is simply a case of tech not taking enough time to do the job right." mine ended up leaking into the valve covers, and pushing oil out. they replaced one, then it came back, and they did two more, then it came back again, and replaced the rest of them. shoddy work, yes, but i dont think that glass beading would have done anything. the tech who worked on my truck told me about it, and that it didnt work on the last 3 sets he did. but, at this point in my relationship with him, im not sure what to believe. the dealer came out good though, they replaced all 8 at no charge for parts or labor
