The timing bracket in the middle picture? For timing db2 pumps. That is where the magnetic pick up goes.

Ha! after looking at it again I think it's just a cover/plug for the lower rad hose

Only cylinder thing I see on Pass side is the water pump hose connection point. He painted the water pump, but not the place where the hose goes on.
