Hello to all, and Happy New Year! I just picked up a 95 Suburban K1500 6.5L TD, axle ratio 3.42/G80, stock exhaust, 182,000 miles on it. The previous owner stated the 4L80E was just recently rebuilt. There is much work to be done to it, but it was a much needed purchase as we have the need for seats! The A/C has a leak somewhere but I haven't been able to locate it just yet, and there's a decent oil leak on the passenger side (probably the valve cover), and there have been no mods other than relocating the PMD on a 6' extension cable w/o sink and just sitting loose in the engine compartment. I'm not afraid to tackle/wrestle any type of repair work needed. I've spent the last few weeks pouring over the tremendous wealth of information on this site. I'm glad to be here, and excited to get the most out of our "new" ride.
I'm a coffee snob, I enjoy making beer, gardening, and fixing things. My wife considers me to be a mad scientist. We have 3 biological kids, and 3 foster kids at the moment. And our life is crazy all the time.

Welcome to ya.
Check the oil cooler lines for the possible oil leak. If it is them fix immediately, if it lets loose you will loose the engine in a heart beat. Also incase you live in cold country, never use starting fluid on these engines.
