wtf are you talking about, we pmcs'ed our hmmwv's daily and pre-patrol in afghanistan and iraq, also repaired them both on patrol and back at the fob.
then again, there's something to be said for having "Set the standard for others to follow"
well I beat up my joes and fellow TL's about PMCS when I moved to alaska... last thing we needed was a stryker turned pillbox on a patrol...
vehicle crews don't like the threat of a 20 mile roadmarch if I could find a operator level problem with it, or if it was ever deadlined due to operator level maintanance not being performed.
Only had to do it once, too.
PMCS HA HA HA, you know Soldiers these days. There not gonna PMCS that thing. Also that truck if it goes into service will probably be shipped straight to Iraq and Afgan and never seen state side expect for testing.
