Hello to all , I purchased a GMC K 2500 with what I thought would be an easy fix , a bad flex plate . That was the easily part , curing all the other ills of this truck has turned into a nightmare . Fuel system cobbled and hacked together , the wrong o-ring under the sending unit , an engine knock on #8 cylinder , leaking engine oil cooler lines , missing locking hub on the passenger side , and a hacked up air conditioning system which I am deleting from the truck . But all in all the truck is in good shape and would have been a shame to allow it to go to the crusher .
A little about myself , I must be a glutton for punishment as I restore and rehabilitate old engines , farm equipment , garden tractors , and fabricate my own equipment . My current project is a 1956 John Deere 420-C , (crawler) here is a link to one of my threads on it .

Most of what has been done on it is in this thread . I have built too many pieces of equipment to be listed here also .
I work as a Steamfitter to support my hobbies .
Thanks to davo727 for sending me here .

Always nice to see a new face finding this web-site. Welcome over and I am sure everyone here will help you when ever needed.

Howdy Dan,

Welcome to the site, wev'e got a few folks here very familiar with the 6.2, and it's brother the 6.5, swing by and say howdy in those forums, we'll get you sorted out, good news for you the 6.2 is relatively inexpensive to fix, parts are plentiful, it ain't a powerhouse but is a reliable Diesel

Wrecker , yes Pennsylvanian is a word :cheers2:
RC the home of Channellock tools , Meadville , Pa . I use N/W Pa. because I work all over it .
BigR your avatar looks like some of the mountains over S/E of Warren Pa. Used to mow gas line right of way over there .
Thanks to all who posted here . Dan

Good to have a local member on here. I'm about 8-ish miles North of you, up around Cambridge. I spend 1/2 of every school day in Meadville at Vo-Tech (for Diesel technology).

RC , I spent three years in that building in Machine shop practice and Tool & Die , many many moons ago . .
Went in the Army :patriot: as a heavy equipment operator , after four years I returned to tool & die but found that standing at a machine all day was not for me :banghead: . But I still use those skills in my fabricating work . Good luck with Diesel Tech . Dan
