I have a 1997 Chevy Suburban K 1500 10 bolt 4 × 4 wanting to know if I can swap it out with a 14-bolt 1996 Chevy Tahoe 4×4] rear end

Are you sure the tahoe is a 14 bolt? I've never seen a stock tahoe with a 14 bolt, even the 2 door diesels came with a 10 bolt iirc. As to can it be done, yes, it's been done. Most go for a 14 bolt out of a 1500 pickup that was ordered with the hd camper package. It's not a direct bolt in, but not a hard swap provided you get the correct axle. Just be certain NOT to get a 6 lug 14 bolt out of a 2 wheel drive 2500 from the late 80's, they're 3 inches narrower than a 4x4 axle(I know somebody who learned this one the hard way).
