How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

I would say get them balanced. best kind of insurance policy for long term. see what Chris says. factory spec is 2150psi balanced within 25 psi of each other. most any diesel shop can do it for you, check out prices though. @MrMarty51 has sent a few sets to a good shop near him that I believe he personally knows and has has good results.

Once those are installed, maybe send your old ones in too with videos of what you are seeing and see what they say. having another set ready to go for future use is nice to have!

I had a place in Michigan I used. Somebody else here used them also.

Years ago I would install new injectors out of the box. I don't remember hearing of many bad injectors back then.

Now days, it's not uncommon to have at least one out of 8 that needs attention.

In my mind, it's well worth the money and time to know what you're installing.
It can be a frustrating, time consuming affair trying to figure out an issue after they're installed. At that point, most people are too stubborn to pull the injectors back out to be tested and balanced.

Knowing where you got those injectors, I'd just ask his opinion on the subject

it used to be that way, but nowadays not so much. being those are new old stock, it's possible they were tested.

They will. it's rare these days to find one that needs the coarse thread injectors. pull the #1 out and see / compare. just be careful with the return lines and barbs so you can put it back.
 
the main thing on balancing them is making sure one isn't way out of whack, but with new old stock, it's probably unlikely that will happen. if you install and your smoking on the first startup diminishes to only having just a little. you know you've found the main cause. meanwhile have your old ones re-done for a spare set :)
 
before you install though, get you a roll of the return hose. your gonna want to replace all of that small hose. there are kits that are pre-cut at the auto parts, but you can also get a roll of the stuff too. I used the pre-cut kit on my 95, I will have to look up the part number if you need it. it's made by Dorman. Just make sure you have the hose in hand before hand. also the correct socket to remove and install them too along with a torque wrench. they need to be torqued to 50 ft lbs.

If i do have the long body style ones, and I put these in, the lines won't reach, and apparently they're different shaped lines aswell (?).

I will never again install an injector unless i get it tested first.
If it is a set then the entire set goes to the fluid shop.
I think if ever I put enough miles on this truck to warrant another set of injectors I’ll have them sent to @Rockabillyrat rat first and have Him run through them then give Me a report on His findings.
The shop I used didnt give Me any sort of a report. Just the receipt/work order for my payment and stating, tested and adjusted injectors.
I called and asked what all He had to do to them, plus if some were faulty and never got back a reply. I really wanted to know.
You can go to My youtube channel and see how the injectors performed on the test bench.
Then make Your decision if they should be at the least checked.
