I cannot find a blower motor resistor anywhere that will fit this truck (checked Rock Auto, Parts geek, all the auto parts stores in Michigan, etc.) Does anybody have any suggestions other than trampsing around junkyards to try and find one?

All of their resistors have a 5 or 7 wire female connector port; Mine only has 3 wire female connector port.

And the resistor I took out is 6 inches long with 2 wires coming out one end labeled = and -
and a female port on the other end labeled batt, input and ground

You might have trouble looking for a blower resistor as that is not a resistor. You have the MOSFET fan speed controller. As I recall, they changed design and require the installation of a new style plug, hence why the new ones look different. The new one is a 5 pin controller ACDELCO 1581773. The new plug replaces the old 3 pin plug, and if you look through the pictures, you will see that the new plug has the 2 pin blower motor connection atatched to it.
