OPS = oil pressure sending unit . it has separate contacts in it to run the lift pump only when there is oil pressure

Time for a new OPS and then do the relay mod

Sent from my Studio 5.0s using Tapatalk

If you have voltage coming from the OPS, You can more than likely skip changing the OPS and just do the relay mod. It does not take much voltage to trigger the relay. I have 2 vehicles that have the relay mod and bad OPS's. They have been running for years like this

If you have the parts available it is best to change the upper and lower intake to F intakes. That will remove the EGR.

There is more to it after that. I will be doing the 95 Tahoe soon. So I need to read up myself

Thanks. I know about intake. My question is about how to cheat the lamp CHECK

Leaving the EGR in place with a block off plate and the vacuum line attached will keep the light from coming on.

A reflash is the better way to go.

My opinion only: loose the ds4 injection pump for a db2. If you have an automatic transmission buy a trans controller from Leroy, if manual trans-no worries. Read about ds4 - db2 conversion by Bobby Martin. This eliminates any need for pcm and the ever troublesome pmd. All US Military vehicles that use a 6.2/6.5 platform use db pumps only. Thats because they are more reliable. The amount of performance gain available from ds4 is so little it is not worth it. Especially with your remote access to parts and supplies for this engine.

Thanks. I'll think about it for my truck. But now I'm doing my friend's truck repair
