Harness to pdm

How do I replace pdm harness that goes from engine compartment to the pdm? The one I guess is behind the head. I can't see it. Thanx
Best to remove the intake manifold.
Also have an extension harness in hand.
Leroy Diesel and Quad Star Tuning sells the highest quality units.
Their kits comes with the Flight Systems, made in USA pump driver thats guaranteed for life.
Order a spare though unless the truck can set for a week or so while a replacement gets to You.
I also splice an extension into the ground wire that goes from the IP ground screw to the harness connector. A foot or so longer then it can be worked out through the right side under the intake manifold.
Makes it a lot easier if You ever need to unplug that extension harness that puts the pump driver behind the front bumper.
I have three on extension harnesses behind the front bumper.
If one fails, open the hood and unplug the bad unit, plug in the good one and go again.
I also numbered the harness connectors so if one goes bad I know which one it is when I get Under the truck to remove the bad unit.
Just having one spare located behind the bumper can save a lot of time and frustration if one does fail.

I don't think I have the original resister in pdm, is that okay or should I order a #5. Also, while I was changing my fuel filter in was checking pdm harness that goes to engine compartment, and when pushed on it, the engine shut off. So I started it, pushed again, lightly, engine started to shut off, I let go and stayed running.. any thoughts? Thanx so much.

Figure which wire is causing the shut down, might be a loose or bent pin. Could be a broke wire too.
Most people run the #5 resistor.
I read that without a resistor eventually the engine will shut down and not restart.
Dont remember what the solution to that is.

Thanx, I ordered a #5. Trying it tomorrow.
While the harness is disconnected,
Do a close up examination on both sides for bent pins, then, if no pins is bent or missligned, pull/push on the wires and find out which one is loose.
Get that figured out and I think Your days of the stalling truck will be behind You.
You might even get on the Leroy Diesel or Quad Star Tuning page and get a new extension harness coming if You cant get Your harness figured out.
But yeah, get that resistor in the PMD.
