I've been a long time periodic dieselplace stalker, most of the stuff I've been there for could be found through the search engine in one way or another so there hasn't been very much posting going on but I really liked the place.

Discovered this place through Tim TurbineDoc's farewell thread and decided to drop by.

My truck is a 97 k2500 Worktruck that is almost bone stock for now and it is my daily driver. In my mind I have alot of modification fantasies but my wallet is already strugglin to keep up with maintenance. If I was on the other side of the pond I suspect the story would have been another as parts are WAY more expensive here.

I'm pulling the occasional horsie, only a two horse trailer so no biggie. I am trying to be gentle with my right foot not to break anything but sometimes "forget".

Welcome Dag. Another one from Norway. Are there many US made pickups and SUV's there?

I transported a horse trailer to FL a couple of years ago to be put on a ship going to Norway. I thought that was rather interesting. It just didn't seem much like what I would have thought being much need for.

There are quite a few, see lots of them around here anyway. Highest density of them in farming areas (like here)I believe.

I transported a horse trailer to FL a couple of years ago to be put on a ship going to Norway. I thought that was rather interesting. It just didn't seem much like what I would have thought being much need for.

Been thinking of getting a horse trailer from over there at times, most are only two horse trailers around here and it would be nice to have something a little bigger. One of the horses are kinda huge so he barely fits in the one we have..

Sounds like you might need a 3 or 4 horse slant and take the separation gate out.....assuming that the trailer height is OK. Is your horse a Perchron or something similiar?

I you like camping with you horse a living quarters trailer with a 3 or 4 horse slant would be nice. Those suckers are expensive and are all gooseneck hitch. All the bumper pulls are two horse that I have seen. Doesn't mean that some thing larger in a bumper pull is not available but I haven't run across one.

Welcome Dag. You might want to check in to trailers made for warmbloods. I know sundowner makes some.

Yeah, he's a big boy. Got some power in his hind legs as well I discovered when he bucked and hit me in my thigh once..

I think they mostly use medium duty or big rigs for transportation of cattle and such. We don't have the same haul it yourself culture here it seems, never seen a pickup truck with a plow on it either.

Pickup's are used for a lot of things here. Hotshot rigs with 40ft goosenecks hauling GCWR loads of 30K plus, tow trucks and about anything else you can imagine, within some reason.

Big rigs are used here to haul cattle but it is typically long haul trips and for big loads. The small farmer or rancher is likely to use his pickup. A lot of cattle here are moved to different feed lots in different states at various times of the year so a lot of cattle are moved at once by the big rigs.
