FU build - 350 in 69 Camaro

I could go to a car forum, but I'm already a part of this one and don't feel like creating a thread somewhere else for a car that's not mine. Ha

My friend has a 1969 Camaro that he bought when he was in HS or shortly after (we're both 38 now).

Not knowing much - but supposedly it has a 350 out of a truck that is now a 383. Supposedly it was a 383 when he purchased it, but I don't believe that's ever been confirmed. (Is there a way to confirm without opening it up?)

Also, supposedly, the way the heads are, there is no (good) way to mount an alternator and even difficult to mount the power steering and whatever else is on the front.

I'm just trying to find the BS and go from there - so if anyone has any ideas on how to install a stock or aftermarket water pump and than any brackets to hold the rest on, I would appreciate it!

 
You have to open it up to verify.

Pics of the car man! I owned a red 69 coupe, enjoy seeing projects.

The heads are”camel back” aka “double hump” but with no mounting holes make me think aftermarket company called Trick Flow or similar. They are not normally used for engines that have any accessories other than alternator.
 
Those heads could be the 194s or the 202s. Numbers as to the size of the intake valves.
There were single hump and double hump heads. Those are double humpers. Typical of the later 50s and sometime into the 60s.
I think it was real early 70s when bolt holes were included and the castings on the ends of the heads had changed.
The other identifying castings for that vintage of heads was a rectangle cast in the same area and then a rectangle with a point sticking upwards from the center of the rectangle.
The plain rectangle designs was just factory run of the mill heads, small valves and low compression.
This is all on ancient memories from days long gone so if tjere are any corrections, i will not dispute a one of those. 😹

There was a couple dozen styles. But I am pretty sure all those double hump had holes in it for the factory heads. Someone better at google-fu than me could probably find the charts that used to hang in the hotrod shops saying what heads were what.

I had more mouse motors hot rodded than 6.5s. I grew up with a group of guys- we all had 67,68, 69 camaros. Occasionally we let a guy get a 72 split bumper or something near…
 
I'll take more photos tomorrow and will more thoroughly go through your responses tomorrow/tonight.
