Ford 302 Crank Bolt

Son is doing work on his 1973 Ford Bronco. Crank bolt does not seem to want to go all the way, at least not easily. Not cross threaded and bolt looks fine. Have not put a torque wrench to it. Before does torque it on the HB, he wants to know if he should run a tap into it to clean the threads?

NO. Not a tap.

you need THREAD CHASERS.. they look like a tap but don’t cut material of the crank or bolt away, they just clean and straighten the existing threads.
