What engine temps you seeing, same recommendations as Woody calls for, dirty rad/ac core (externally clogged fins) are prime candidates for high temp, as is bad stat, and even bad fan clutch.
Open exhaust 4" is where I'd go with it as eventually once the 6.5 power Geine is let out it's bottle you'll want to start upgrades.
Downpipe replacement highly recommended especially earlier vintage years, did yours come with a "soot trap" catalytic converter, that needs to come off, Diesels don't get hot like a gasser for exhaust heat to burn off hydrocarbons in cats core and it eventually plugs up BAD restricting flow and upping temps.
