Maybe someone could tell me why this won't work...I have a "S" K1500 Sierra..I have an "F" intake and will be swapping it out soon. Is it possible to get a junkyard ECM for a Suburbanof comparable values (same tranny and rear gear) or are they gonna be too different? I'm not looking to tune, just to keep the sexy glow of a "check engine" off...and do those vehicles have the MAF sensors? (hopefully not, I'd REALLY like to get rid of that!...yup it has one) Thanks in advance.

Hi.
Worked for me. Swapped from a Suburban into a Tahoe (main reason because the Tahoe ECM fried up when I tried to start it with jumper cables) just to have it running. No issues at all, at least no one I got aware of.

It will work fine, just make sure and redo the vacuum lines and wiring to that of an F engine. I believe the firewall mounted MAP sensor will need to be unplugged for an oBD2 as they didn't use one on 96+ F engines, and the vacuum lines will have to be setup to just supply the wastegate solenoid if your staying with the stock vacuum system. But you will have to look to find a BURB ECM if you have 3.42 gears in your truck. If you have 3.73's you can use most any F truck ECM, but to keep the trans shifting right with 3.42's you need to find a BURB ECM as that was the only 3.42 factory F engine option I know of.

Thanks Norwegian!
Thanks Ferm! THAT's what I was looking for..I have 3.73, so that will help a bunch!
Thank you both for the replies.

John
