door ajar light on

Hello guys need some help on this situation. 2003 duramax crew cab that we just got, we are getting drivers door and a left rear door ajar indicator on the dash. The truck was a farm truck, could tell when i pull the panels off. i try cleaning the switches but did not work. GM says to replace the whole latch assembly which are kinda pricey, but I'm finding ajar switches sold separately will they work? can the latch and ajar switch separate from each other?
Im also needing to replace the master switch on the drivers door. Does the new switch need to be program to the body module? needing suggestions please thanks.

Makes sense, if you go to England you hoods a bonnet so why not turn a door into a jar.
