So my low coolant sensor was not reading for a couple months. I knew I had coolant, so I did not worry (PO put leak stop in system to try to fix leaks, it coated the sensor).

I finally got around to cleaning the probe and off goes the coolant light.

I feel like the truck is running with a hair more power now... placebo or does the computer change parameters when it reads low coolant?

I drive steep grades at lower speeds and my truck is holding higher speeds at the same rpm.

You can tell me it is all in my head... I would believe it! :D

Finally have my guages, looking forward to installing injectors and chipping her before winter to improve glow cycles.

On a 95 the ECM has no clue as to wether the low coolant light is on or not. It is all independant in its own module and wiring.

true, no PCM input. Its all in your head, or should I say foot. Maybe subconsciously the light out has given you more confidence to keep the foot down further

thats kind of what I thought... I do feel better with the light out, even though I knew I had coolant. The truck is driving better and better as I take care of her.

Thanks for the reassurance that I am crazy!

Keep the sensor clean. It will gum up and read 'ok' for a bit after the coolant departs suddenly. Long enough to crack heads when a block heater blows out. Then reads low after you stop. Ask me how I know.
