Does anybody have an opinion on hose clamp tools. I need to get one. They are a wide variety of pric

As much as I like otc tools, that one sucks. the tiny teeth on that circle wear out fairly quick and is out the door. Not just the otc, but there are several mfrs that use that design, avoid them all.

Here is an example of the style to get. I just grabed the pic randomly, idk about this vendor.

Notice how the teeth on this are built. There are a few mfrs that make them like this that are good, this design feature is key, as well as verify you are getting a lifetime warranty with it.

DO NOT confuse this with the style with 1 big latch to hold in the compressed position. This style causes too much tension on the cable and breaks it frequently.

My years as the Mac Tool Guy I never replaced the good design, and got so tired of replacing the other 2 that I refused to sell the other styles after a short time.

Either KD brand or Lisle and you can't go wrong. I've had both brands for years and they hold up excellent

Good question and thread. I was wrestling with the heater clamps the other day with pliers, and started wondering what the real removal tool. I would like to get away from worm drive band clamps as they loosen.
