Just wondering if there is any one out there who has strayed away from the att/ holset route. We all know and I agree that the att is probably the best bang for buck performance turbo and it seem to have great power out put and be very reliable. But I am wanting to hear if anyone is doing anything different or outside the box, and what results they are getting.

You could run my ATT with BD valve lol sort of a different route. I would classify it as a whole other animal lol but I think there are some running Garretts but I do believe most of the general assembly is running Holsets or an ATT

I have been eyeing the s468. It would be a good bit of work and I would have to find a cko version because the 2k+ price tag is a bit much for my pockets. As for now I am very happy with my TH06E I can wait to see how it runs with a good tune. But I think I would like to go even bigger or go the twin route. But that is all just wishes and dreams for now.

The S400 frame is ALOT more than what i think the 6.5 could use. Your talking a class of turbo that can support from 600-1000 HP on fuel only. The S300 could be used. I know great white was running something different, and HEATH is supposed to be offering a new turbo as well.

Powerstroke 7.3 aftermarket turbo, actually thread on this site with one installed. Pen Diesel also has one, guessing its a Mitsu or Garret, I think there is one left on "The Diesel Place" for $500.

Last time I went to Heaths site ( a couple of days ago ) they no longer are listing turbos individually. They are listing them in there "kits" and they are back to the s-84 that Paveltoz is running. I believe it is a garret clone. I believe Ron Schoolcraft is still selling the Schweitzer non gated turbo. Have not been to his site in awhile.

Yup, Heath "Super-84" prototype test unit. A/R 60 on the compressor housing, not sure of the internals...too chicken to open it up. I've an ATT on the shelf as well.
Like the ATT, boost comes up a little later than the GMs and, depending on the internals, the HX-35 that SS-Force is running but once it lights...hang on!
Note: Get a turbo specific tune to get the best results.

What about twins. I have seen pictures of that little 82 short bed with his set up. And the land speed truck, but is anyone running twins on a street/work truck

Like one off each bank, I have wanted to do that for a long time. I have two gm4s laying in my garage. I thought it would be neat

I've had a couple different types and arrangements on mine. I've had a couple garrets and a couple Switzer's. Really want to try an efr, but not readily available in the shop i deal with and way too expensive to buy one on spec.

Currently running a gm8 that's been worked over by a couple "friends" and on the stock exhaust manifolds.

Most promising one so far.....but its still just an old 6.5 idi so expectations are low to start with.

Being able to recalibrate the PCM is the key to making any turbo work in the combo.....

i cant recalibrate my computer, i threw it out and went db-2 pump, know what turbo should i look at,

, wonder what the gm-8 had done to it,,
