Rather than bury this on page 28 I thought I would throw it out there for folks running big turbo's with DB2 mechanical injection.

I did find a aneroid setup for Ford IDI DB2's and it may work on a 6.5/6.2. An aneroid limits fuel delivery until the turbo generates enough boost to burn it thus limiting black smoke. The throttle on a DB2 is an RPM request not a direct fuel control. So even with careful throttle work you can smoke black as the DB2 governor can request full fuel for a small (throttle) RPM increase request. This device would limit the metering valve max opening until boost allows it to go full open.

For reference only as these do not yet fit a 6.5.

Interesting sort of like a hydro-mecanical CIT sensor before digital engine controls became the standard in flight engine, where atmospherics acting on a charged bellows assy, vs compressor discharge pressure, vs baro condition/altitude & ambient temps limiting governed fuel from the fuel control or our world the IP

Would allow better metering of fuel in a mech IP, a stop gap to what drove the DS-4 electronic IP bettering emission footprint.

That is pretty cool, might be the ticket for keeping the fuel screw set low for maximum mpg when fuel isn't needed.

Like mentioned in the oilburners thread, most bosch IPs tend to have this from the factory. It is in my VE pump (92 cummins) and my MW pump (85 Mercedes 300sd, OM617) and they are generally bypassed by the oraler crowd.
