Despite some others opinions, I have no problems with the R4 compressor. Your 95 came with an R4 from the factory, and it is actually a HIGHER output unit than the HT6 that replaced it. The R4 compressor used on these trucks was a 12 CFM unit whereas the HT6 successor was only an 11 CFM unit. As to going to a SANDEN, I see no reason to myself. The R4 has been known to be slightly shorter lived than other designs, but if charged and filled with oil correctly, they live a more than adequite service life IMO. I use GPD brand myself, and have had no problems with them. They offer them as a 100% new unit, and seem to correct many of the factory faults in each unit when they build them.
