2007 LBZ stock with only EGR delete. got 200 yards down the road from fuel station, water in fuel light came on and within 100 yards stuck on side of road...Got the water drained out, bled, but wont start... repeated drain, bleed crank several times... towed home, fortunately only a couple blocks from home... More draining, bleeding, cranking... still no start... batteries charging now. Is it possible that much water in the pump, injection lines, injectors that it wont push through? Or, is there something to reset? should I crack loose lines at injectors and crank it to flush them out?

STOP!!!

YES, STOP TRYING TO START THE DAMN THING!!!

Cracking an injection line on the 23,000 PSI injection system can kill you or loose a hand. Don't do it!

You are only doing more damage until you get rid of the massive water amount in the system. Water in fuel has just plugged the marginal factory filter. Pushing it to start can rupture the filter or otherwise get water past it. Then you can see what the cost of a CP3 and 8 injectors are. Maybe just maybe the filter improvements saved your injection system.

Drop and drain tank. All the fuel in it is waste oil. $100 of fuel isn't worth the above injection system replacement cost.
Purge lines.
Replace fuel filter.
Add known good fuel.
Then and only then try and start it again.

Diesel 911 or any other krap that emulsifies water is making the problem worse! You want water to fall out of diesel not mix with it, get past the filter, score injection pumps, and steam explosion blow the tips off the injectors.

You need to call the local state government to inspect and shut down that pump. Should be a number on the pump for the state or Google it.

The above can be done at a dealer and then sue the station for reimbursement.

Don't try and crank it UNTIL you FLUSH OUT THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM! If there was enough water in it to trip the light that quickly, then you got some SERIOUS water in there. Water in the CP3 is an almost GUARANTEED death sentence for it, and water in the injectors even if only for a short time will kill them almost instantly. If you would have shut it off as soon as the light came on and drained it, you'd probably been OK. Now you need to drain and flush the ENTIRE fuel system, change the filters, pull ALL the high pressure lines off and flush them out, then put it back together and bleed it out and HOPE you didn't take out the CP3. Repairs like this typically cost $10K or MORE from getting a bad tank of fuel and trying to drive on it. Know somebody else who did, and it cost him almost $12K before he was back and going again. Fortunately if you still have your receipt, most stations have insurance for just this kind of thing, and will pay for it provided you have it done at a certified shop where it can be documented and submitted to the insurance adjuster.

Thanks for the replies! I pulled over as soon as I could right after seeing it, happened pretty quick. SUCKS, butI believe the damage may already be done?

Lots of bad experiences around from that type of stuff, luckily I never had to deal with that.

I'd be raising he!! At the station manger present and receipt in hand. Don't drain the fuel yourself have a certified shop do it so a a qualified tech is the one making the report.

Yea I would read up on what you need to do so you can guarantee that station will pay for the damages. Because, out of pocket that's going to cost you if the fuel system is toast.

Having worked for a large fuel supplier - go invest $150 in a LAWYER if your shop doesn't tell you the exact procedure to go through.

(I have to share- AutoCorrect typed invest in a LASER - that could work also)
