Little update from the weekend's progress. Motor mounts are done and the engine is finally secured. Fenders have had their first trimming, need to take some more material off to get the proper fit but they are loosely mounted now.
Ran into some issues with the hydroboost and the turbo, same clearance issue that Leroy ran into with his suburban. Clearance issue was fixed by 'flipping' the hydroboost system. Basicly unbolt the brake master cylinder and rotate it 180 degrees, then do the same with the firewall mounting plate. Also installed the clutch/brake pedal assembly as well.
Was getting ready to install the better turbo when I noticed that the exhaust T3 flange on the manifold had a hairline crack in it. Welding cast iron doesn't usually work so started searching for replacements, seems to be a somewhat common issue with the Izusu 4BD2T and the stock turbo. Thankfully it's a cheap replacement, got it ordered today without issue so should be here by next weekend.
AC condenser and the stock 4 core radiator are resting in place, need to order the new rubbers for their mounts. Plenty of clearance even with the engine sitting fairly far forward to keep my trans/t-case shifters closer to the stock location. Trans shifter is about 4-6" back, t-case should be just about where it originally was. The old sm465 (4 speed) has the shifter almost at the front of the transmission top cover, the new nv4500 (5 speed) has the shifter close to the back, just before the overdrive.
