I just recently purchased a 84 c30 crew cab. Rwd, automatic, 6.2l diesel. Has 96811 showing on odometer 1283 hrs. Truck has been sitting at least 2 years.it was a old state truck judging by the yellow paint on the fire wall.20181107_172832.jpg the truck came with the electrical as it is and all the garbage. Someone modified a bed from a single wheel truck to fit. 20181107_172832.jpg20181107_172821.jpg20181107_172858.jpg20181107_172808.jpg20181107_172919.jpg20181107_172905.jpgThe only thing I have done so far is replaced the alternator, injection pump, and glow plug system. Now I'm working on the exterior lighting system and removing the shitty wirring job that was added to the truck (household extension cords ect.)

It took me 6 hrs to fix the wiring for the lights. Had the headlights and turn markers in the front all working in about 2 hrs change both headlights. Then I crawled under the bed what a disaster was like a rat nest wires and but connectors everywhere removed 2 lamp cords. Frame looks good beds shot cross members are rotted out. Might look for a donor truck for bed and wire harnesses

That is a nice looking truck. I like the dually with the single wheel bed.
At least it would keep My wifey from crashing extended fenders into trees, poles and parked cars. LOL One reason I did not get a dually. LOLOLOL

It's funny the outer wheels fit into the fender wells the inner fender has to be made wider

I'm getting the idea I'll be chasing the rabbit for a long time on this truck. Test drive it this weekend the brakes were hanging up. Got calipers pads and brake hoses. Had to cut the slide locks out to remove the calipers (the sledge hammer wouldn't move them). Had to replace the brake lines go the calipers. They didn't look bad but the nuts would turn free. Started to bleed them out and the rear line blew out changed it then another blew out I planned on changing them anyway but I use the company garage to do my work and just needed enough brake to get out of the garage. Ended up using a skidsteer as a brake. Tonight I'll finish replacing lines. Want to run it back and forth to work this week Friday night it goes to the shop to be timed and set up it runs ok now they will make it run great. From there I'll run it this winter and work out the mechanical bugs next summer I hope to tear it down to the frame and get the body work and paint done
