6.5 smoking constantly and smells like unburnt diesel

I have A 1993 chevrolet 6.5. This truck was my work horse for years. It all started with a little smoke in the morning during start up just a few puffs, gradually becoming worse over several months. Than one Day it really started smoking and wouldn't stop. So I left it parked for
about 2 years. So I pulled it into the shop, I'm very new to the diesel world. Any advice in a direction I should chase this rabbit down the hole would be greatly appreciated.

How many miles on the injectors ?
Is there a boost pressure gauge installed ?
