6.5 exhaust brake

Dad has a jacobs (the compression brake guys) electric retarder brochure from sometime in the lates 70s through the late 80s, I never looked at the date code, but I thought it was cool they had one way back when. how well it worked? I dont know.

of course caterpillar truck engines didnt engine brake as well back then, so they had a hydrauilc retarder, think half of a torque converter with an engine oil stream shooting against it. could overheat the oil though, and it was pretty integrated into the motor, so I doubt anyone has a similar system for anything else.
