4x4 issue

tonight I got in a tough spot and needed 4x4 to get out, just for 20 seconds probly. I noticed when i pushed the 4Hi button it never went solid, it just stayed blinking, but i deff. had 4x4 engaged, cuz I got out. I hit 2Hi and the light switched instantly, and i know the front diff disengaged since I can turn the wheels and still idle forward and reverse. but now when I go over 40 mph there is a TERRIBLE vibration, the whole truck shakes, and I dont know what it can be?
 
put it back in 4wd, drive a few feet, take it back out, drive back and forth a couple feet. see if that fixes it.

Sounds like it never fully engaged and didn't completly disengage afterwords.
