3 Bar sensor to keep my truck from boost coding?

When I am on a hill and my truck spikes over 15psi it is throwing a boost sensor code. I read in another post that some people replace there boost sensor with a 3 bar sensor to keep the ecm from coding. Is this really possible? If so where can I get the part?

What will the 3 bar sensor accomplish? How will it stop from setting a code?

Basically it will make the ECM think it is only getting half as much boost. So if it codes at 12PSI, it now won't code until 24PSI. Old cheater trick to up the boost on a stock chip. If it is a stock truck with a stock turbo, 15 is to much boost for stock tuning. Drop it back to 12 to keep it from coding and you will get MORE HP as the extra boost is wasted HP.

I a currently running a 15psi Kojo tune. It was set up to run with the vaccuum system but I ended up going turbomaster. It seems if I spike over 15lbs it will code. But no defueling or anything like that

You can also build yourself a boost fooler, as is diagrammed in the tech library. It does the same thing; returns a lower-than-actual value to the PCM, 'fooling' it into commanding more boost (or in this case, keeping it from setting a high-boost code)

Well today I received the 3 bar map and I have good news. I went out and did a few quick runs with the truck holding boost at nearly 15psi right up the same hills that would set limp mode with only 10psi and I held it there for several seconds.

I never had a problem setting codes or check engine light when over boosting but limp mode will always kick in and I would lose all power. Now I can keep my foot in the peddle while climbing hills and not have to worry about losing power from limp mode.

I got the 3 bar map sensor and harness plug for $20 from the auction site.
