261 transfer case?

I'm trying to get all the pieces for my swap together and soon I will need a transfer case for it. My donor has a 263 electric shift, but my recip[ient is already set-up for a floor shifter. I've began looking for a transfer case and see that they list one for 01-03 and then 04+. What if any difference is there? The tranny is an 01 ALLISON that is coming from the donor. I thought they all used the same output shaft and mounting configuration, but see under the parts interchange there is a break.
