2013 Escalade ESV w/ SLP TVS2300

Nice!

If you remove the ash tray, you can use some MDF board on the front to close it off and cover it with some padding and material to match the interior. add some USB power ports behind the cup holders and hide an inverter under it. wire in a couple of house plugs one front and maybe one in the back for laptops or other creature comfort gadgets that use 110 AC.

if you want to get really fancy, install a bigger inverter somewhere else and run wiring to it and to the back to have on the road power for things a mini fridge and whatnots.
Thanks! Yeah, exactly what I was thinking - with the ash tray removed it’s easier to trim it out. On the other hand, it does feel more trick having the ash tray there. I’ll let it marinate for a bit.

Console was a success last weekend. It was so nice having the cupholders and extra storage during our little roadtrip.

I have decided to move it back 3” though. That extra distance between the front and back console will be nice for putting a cooler or some other kind of bin. That also moves the cupholders to a location that is more like what the position is for front seat passengers. That also puts the back of the console inline with the back of the second row seats so it won’t infringe on 3rd row passengers. I’ll get to that modification soon.

I went to the junkyard today and grabbed some more parts to add to the pile of stuff to go onto this ride to make it better. I got an NP263 HD from a 2002 Chevy 2500HD. I also grabbed the TCCM, dash switch and the dash harness all the way to the underhood fusebox. My plan is to tease out the wiring from the harness I grabbed so I can make my own standalone harness for the transfer case. Once I get a selectable front diff, I should have everything I need to convert the Escalade from full-time AWD to push button selectable 4WD. The advantages of that for me are better fuel mileage, more chassis dyno compatibility and burnouts. Burnouts!!!
