i installed a gm factory nav[yes touch screen ] out of a 2003 chevy avalanche ,into a 2003 3500 daully,,i did a vin relearn, everything works, but everytime i try to use the nav it says ''cd error'' music cd's work ,,just the map dvd's dont[im using ver 3.0 and 5.0][these work just fine in my 2006 nav unit]did early touch screens use cd's instead of dvd's?,,

I had the same problem with mine. Sometimes it dosent like those older disks and it can be real finicky Fred. Mine only likes origonal disks and not burnt copies. So far its only accepted 1 burnt disk. What about that disk I sent you, does that work or no?

yes the disk you gave me works, but once a month it says disk error, then i take it out and put it back in and it works fine, this avalanche unit is weird,im trying to find a disk around here other the my org and the one i got from you,,because i cant even get into the nav diagnoustics or clear the memory till it reads a nav disk,im going to try a cd head cleaner and just playingcds in it for 3-4 hrs and see if that helps

Which is why I want a 6 disk CD changer. Not that I use CD's much anymore but I can leave the nav disk alone and let it sit in there.

That is how I use mine, and I add'ed a pac adapter to let me use my backup cam on the camper through the Nav :)

Blizzardplowman,

I am doing the same project. I have the camera on the truck and getting ready to tackle the camper. What type of connection/connector did you use in the back of the truck and on the camper? Thanks
