NO, I wish he was, but he has moved on from wrenching as his main source of income, he's a landscaper now, owns his own business. I selfishly wish he was still in the "biz" , but I think he needed a break??
I do converse with him via social media , so I will pass along your wishes Mike..
Well if you think it's a dust shield rubbing, if it sounds like a dust shield rubbing, it probably is a dust shield rubbing ! :hammer: I did just about everything else a person could do, but I didn't tweak the shield that was closest to the origin of the noise.. So I roll into my mechanics...
Thanks Mike, good to be back around these parts, been too long ! Yeah I pulled both front wheels, nothing to see out of the ordinary..I did notice a push pin missing at the middle bottom , doesn't come anywhere close to hitting there, especially during a right turn... I'm really really lost on...
2007 Classic, 4x4 running 265's. Noticed a rubbing noise (like something rubbing against the brake dust shield) when making a right turn only. I checked the front end, wheel bearings are tight, ball joints seem ok, brakes are good and functioning properly and dust shield isn't tweaked or bent...
I was close, but my pudgy little body and my stumpy arms would have proven to be my downfall. Plus it was well worth having Joe do it, just because we got to shoot the bull for a good long time ! :cornut:
I contemplated doing #8 the weekend after Christmas. I had the glow plug,I read this thread again and said I CAN DO IT ! Well saturday came and so was a snowstorm, I can do it, no garage so doing it in the driveway? , I CAN DO IT . Fender liner off in 30 minutes, ahhh hoses in the way, plug is...
Blower control modules are not on manual slide hvac systems, so I need to do the harness and resistor again! Although not terrible it does irk me that I have to do this AGAIN and again in another few years.
After some research it seems it's the blower control module, I'll do some more investigation today. I have called Joe ,but he hasn't returned my calls in quite some time, he must be busy as all hell .
Wife just called, the blower in the truck is running full blast with no one in it. No key ,switch is in the off position and the blower is on high. She went to get her phone to call me and now it's off. WTF ???
I have already had the plug and resistor thing done to my truck after I lost a few speeds on the dial, and all has been well for the past 2 years. Yesterday, after running back from upstate NY (about 4 hours) with the ac on I stopped home for an hour, took a 35 minute ride with AC on, stopped...
From what I heard it's usually carbon build up that causes the tips to break off. We have 2 GMC's with Duramax engines, strictly round town vehicles. We had one that a glow plug snapped off when trying to remove it,almost 6k later is was back on the road ! I think if the engine gets worked, the...
