I have been chasing a SQUEEK for weeks. I finally jacked up the front end and have some SERIOUS SLOP in the drivers side wheel. I am embarrased at how bad it is! :mad2: I checked it a year ago and it was fine. The passenger side is rock solid.
My guess is that the noise is coming from...
I have been fighting a serious SQUEEK in the front end. I greased all the fittings tonight (except one - couldn't find it). I looked closer at the passenger side after I was done. I think I put about 5 pumps from the grease gun. Is this going to go POP!?
Now it sounds like a really high pitch squeek, kind of like brakes do sometimes. It happens when I am going slow and turning. Braking or accelerating do not make a difference.
So if he only plans to pull a 6,000lb trailer he should be good? He isn't looking to make big power or do anything special. He currently pulls the trailer with a F150 with a 5.4L engine.
My friend is determined to get a Furd! Main reason is that he can't find a GMC or Chevy diesel in his price range.
What are the BIG problems with the 6.0? I have heard a ton of bad things about them and that you should stick with the 7.3.
Any info would be helpful!
TIA
MODS: If this is the wrong forum I am sorry, please move if necessary.
There is a squeeking/moaning/groaning noise that comes from under the hood when I am turning at slow speeds. Mostly seems to happen when turning to the right.
Any ideas?
I have changed my batteries. A tech at the local auto repair shop told me there was a TSB related to the gauges not working when there was low voltage on startup? Since my batteries are bad I am thinking new ones will help. I will keep you posted.
