    Radiator Screen Ideas and Solutions

I did the window screen just like you did several years ago. I was able to find black metal screen so it blends in a little better. Just like you I spent a day cleaning the radiator/coolers and AC. After that fun filled day I said no more and installed a screen. They only thing I can tell...

    intermittent lift pump issues

On my Kennedy LP harness it uses it's own OPS for power when running, this OPS works as a on/off switch when oil pressure is present. If you unplug the harness from this second OPS the system should default "LP ON" when the ignition is under power. One time I washed my engine and the second...

What is the recomended Pre FFM pressure

Greetings, My Walbro FRC-10 died after about 1-1.5 years of good service. Not wanting to have the same issue one year later I have purchased a Raptor 100 kit from Leroy. What pressure should I set? The truck has a fuel pressure gauge pre-FFM and is monitored in cab. According to my...

    this is bad.

Holy Crap Batman! Get a tetanus shot before attempting repair! :hihi: I think this was your glow plug, perhaps someone else can zoom in and confirm. It looks like getting that thing out will not be easy. As others have said soak this thing in some type of solution to help break up the...

    P400 in the Burb install

When I had a P400 put in my 95 suburban, Peninsular cut and welded the cast pan so it would fit in a non lifted 4X4 vehicle. They did a fantastic job. I think they said they had a jig to do it with. Good luck with the install! The P400 is a very nice motor! Brian

    8 lug C1500 Suburban?

The diesel burbs got 8 lug wheels (I think it started in 94 thru 99), even the half-ton diesel versions. You should also have an "F" engine. So it is a 1500 with a frame that is closer to a 3/4 ton. You probably have 3.42 axle. They were only offered with the 1/2 ton. Really the difference...

I am going to order some Artic Silver 5 heat sink paste unless somebody has a better

Use artic silver and you will be fine. If you need it now you can buy it at Radio Shack. I have used it for the PMD with no problems, just make sure your heat sink is clean. A little goes a long way. Good stuff Brian

So, is your AC lacking? Radiator and condenser coil

I used this stuff http://www.homedepot.com/buy/appliances/air-conditioners-fans-dehumidifiers/ac-safe/foam-coil-cleaner-22963.html It really helped clear the bugs and dirt, I used a lot if it and rinsed the system with water, over and over. I also used a pick to help dig out the little rocks...

    cylinder balance Fault

Ok to try to finish this up, after changing the first fuel filter I still had air in the system. I rechecked the fuel system pre lift pump with no luck, still air bubbles. I attached another clear line from the IP to the fuel return system. No bubbles coming from the IP so my problem had to...

    cylinder balance Fault

So here is what I know from tonight's journey of understanding of the 6.5 turbo diesel. I installed the clear hose on the fuel return and surprise surprise, bubbles of air. Not a few but a bunch. So I started under the burb where I installed a Racor fuel filter/heater. All hose connections...

    cylinder balance Fault

I will check for air tomorrow, the fuel system is fully modified. The FFM filter was changed 2000 miles ago but I will look into it. After the FFM I have the feed the beast mod. I also have a Racor filter pre-lift pump and it's filter was changed 2000 miles ago. I guess if a fuel connector...

    cylinder balance Fault

I am running a Walbro FRB-5. I have a pressure gauge after the lift pump, before the factory fuel filter and the lowest pressure I have witnessed is 5 psi. It normally runs 7 - 8 psi cruising down the road. Is this pressure OK? Thanks Brian

    cylinder balance Fault

While driving around this afternoon it was warm 95 deg I noticed my idle was higher than usual. I have had this problem before and thought nothing of it. Today I decided to look further. Reading the active codes I have a 98 Cylinder balance Fault #8 and 94 Cylinder balance fault #5. In...

Help Understanding Potential Upgrades - For Planning...

Warp Speed is the exhaust system, I think it is a rebadged Diamond Eye. If someone else can confirm that it would be great. The crossover was purchased at the same time so I think it was also a Warp Speed. Brian

Help Understanding Potential Upgrades - For Planning...

When I purchased my Diamond Eye/warp speed 4 in I also purchased a crossover. The main thing you want is mandrel bent. I think mine is a 2.5 inch crossover. I am only guessing and someone here will chime in on this but anything 2 inches or above will be good.

Help Understanding Potential Upgrades - For Planning...

Exhaust is the first, ditch the soot trap and open it up to 4in, look into a good muffler to ease the sound for the family. Also, upgrade the crossover. Assuming your intake system is ok this should take care of your labored feel while cruising. ATT will really open up the top end of your RPM...

Starting problem and a headlight problem

It was the starter, I replaced it tonight with a Powermaster. It was a tight fit with a P-400. You are correct, the Powermaster really spins the motor! On to the headlights!, thanks for the help. Brian

Starting problem and a headlight problem

In the past two days I have had this problem 4 times, I turn the key and all you hear is the starter solenoid click, one click only. Release the key, turn the key to start and it will start. The electrical connections are tight and clean on the starter and at the battery. Both batteries are...
