On the ‘94 K2500 Suburban, I have the 2nd Generation (post SKB) air intake. There is a simple 3/4” diameter hole in boot for the hose from the CDR and it is egged out and leaking. I would like to address this as I do the CKO ProVent install. Existing fitting is a 3/4” straight barb. Looked on...
Hear that whine? It also changes when steering wheel is moved back and forth and when steering wheel hits a hard stop. Not impacting steering itself.
Is this my power steering pump going out?
Looking to order paint for the ‘94 Suburban and need the paint code. Here’s some pics of the Suburban showing the color:
Suburban is not with me in Montana, but her is a pic of the RPO codes from a similarly painted 1995 GMC truck:
Which one is the paint code?
So I got this hood for my wife’s 4Runner:
Very good condition, but the 4Runner is Magnetic Grey, so this will need to be repainted.
For prep, do I just sand down the existing paint and spray base and top coats over it? Or do I strip it down to bare metal, spray primer then base and top coats...

Ever since I bought the ‘99 K2500 Suburban in 2010, the ABS has been an issue. PO had pulled the plug to the ABS pump to avoid the ABS light. I briefly got it working by replacing senders at the bearing hubs. Then it went back into ABS light mode, until a couple episodes where it briefly worked...
Replacing brake shoes and drums on the '99 Suburban. Old shoes had rivets and the ones with 3 rows of rivets are mounted to the rear. Got shoes from Napa and the brake material is bonded without rivets, but two shoes have thicker material. Do the thicker shoes go towards the rear?
I went to install a new door lock pin on the ‘94 Suburban. Undid the pin and the backing plate dropped down into the door pillar. Shouldn’t that plate be spot welded in place?
I was able to fish the plate out with a mechanic’s magnet. I’ve got it mostly held in place with a pair of needle nose...
