Would anyone happen to know the length of the 3 bolts that attach the engine accessory bracket for the AC compressor to the head? I had all three shear off this morning so I have nothing to match up. I have some in now that got me home but they're all too short. I'd rather have the closest I can...
Is it a worth while mod doing now that my lift pump is on its own circuit? The original cause of the mod was to lift some of the electrial burden off the switch if the lift pump relay failed, correct or am I misunderstanding? It has no direct effect on the ops itself?
Saturday I get home from my parents place, about a 25 mile drive and park the 'Burb. Grab a shower and load up to get to a friends house; maybe half hour to 45 minutes after I park. All it does it crank and crank and crank, no hit, not even any smoke out of the tailpipe. Let it sit and tried to...
For a DS4 equipped engine, is it possible have too much fuel pressure going to the injection pump? I'm revamping the lift pump/filter manager setup and was trying to figure out if I need to throw a regulator on the pump or not. Unregulated it should put out 15 PSI.
Is is possible to have a clogged fuel filter and it be as white as it was when installed? What brings this up:
Reading 0 fuel pressure. Mechanical gauge installed between filter manager and IP. When it cranked it would build up to 7psi and promptly fall to 0 when it ran. New OPS, new LP...
Would someone happen to have a diagram of the power block on the driver side kick panel? I'm blowing fuses under "CTSY" and I need to know why. It's a 20 amp fuse; keeps arching when I try to put a new fuse in it. Something's killing my batteries, after all this time they held a charge just fine...
Need some help. For the life of me I can NOT find the connector for my cruise control/TSW. Dad and I spent probably a collective of half an hour trying to find it to no avail.
I have an intermittent "fish-bite" that will NOT go away. Newly rebuilt injectors and IP (IP from Pensacola Diesel), new PMD, just got back from putting in a new (reman) ECM, OPS is fine and it's got a relatively new LP. Comes at any throttle amount and at one point I could tell you where/when...
Anyone running one of these cams? I have it listed in my catalog as a OE replacement. Looking at SSD's website it's a "performance" camshaft.....just a tad confusing. I'm leaning more towards Sealed Power's advertisement as a OE replacement. Correct or no?
Picked up a repo'd 92 K2500 Suburban the other night. Didn't know much about it other than a rather pristine body that was white with grey interior (score!!! I love grey interior; it's universal) and it needed rear leaf springs; the frame was sitting on the axle tubes. Too bad I'll be tearing...
Found a 92 K2500 Suburban with a perfect body that (if all goes well) I will be purchasing later this week. It will be a donor body for my Sub. My question is are there any differences between the gas dash harness and diesel dash harnesses? Or are GM harness really universal (as far as...
Am I supposed to be pulling any vacuum at idle? My gauge reads a nice fat zero with minimal movement with small accelerator input (not including boost).
There was a whole 'nother post here but I did a little more homework and fixed a couple problems. Anyway here are the two that I'm getting. I know the 34 is the stepper motor but what is 94?
Is the only solution to 34 replacing the stepper motor?
Didn't know where to put this one so I stuck it here.
Just got done with my DIP switch mod in my Suburban yesterday. I'm pretty sure I got it right but the ABS light still pops is this right? I figured with the right calibration the ABS would go out (oversized tires). Maybe I'm off? I haven't...
I think mine may be dieing but I'm not sure.
Problem:
Doesn't take much to set if off. I'll drive home from work (est. 20-35 minutes depending on traffic and route), let it idle for a couple minutes to cool down and shut it off. Eat some dinner and maybe leave for short drive, elapsed time from...
While pulling my injectors I have found that two of the copper washers/seals have seated themselves quite nicely inside the injector bores; they're wedged in there pretty good. Is there anyway of getting them out without pulling the heads and knocking them out? Can't feel any edge to pry out on...
Is there anything to be had with boring the injectors? Me thinks it's dangerously overdue for new injectors for the Sub and I may have a local shop here rebuild them instead of buying new ones (unsure of that one just yet). I'm planning to get all the goodies for it eventually (GL4, ATT, etc...
