Found a 92 K2500 Suburban with a perfect body that (if all goes well) I will be purchasing later this week. It will be a donor body for my Sub. My question is are there any differences between the gas dash harness and diesel dash harnesses? Or are GM harness really universal (as far as model/generation)?

Harness' are very different between gas and diesel. Isn't a 92 the old[73-92] body style in a suburban? Mixing 2 body style wiring would be a very big challenge. Not impossible. A change to mechanical injection pump would simplify things greatly.

i thought it went only to 91. 92 should be the same year.

I think there would be some difference between a TBI and an electronic diesel.

Sadly, i would tear the dashes apart and sort it out. get an OEM manual for the 94, as 94 TBI should be the same as a 92 TBI, so therefore the 94 manual would cover both trucks.

good luck!

:iamwithstupid: Image search is same body style. 91 was last OBS year.

Just change over the wiring while you are at it. The ECM and wireing, dash cluster, and maybe the VSS setup will be different.

Eesh, looks like there's no avoiding it. What a nightmare; I already know the original harness in mine is FUBAR thanks to the POs. Well, guess I'll get a good lesson in soldering/reading electrical diagrams.

Do dealers still offer service manuals for 94 model years?

i would go ebay and go shopping.

or go to helm.com for 150 bucks or less you can have a brand new set of books. this is the GM authorized place too.
